A Big Winter Fest Thank You!
Hello fellow CBC members! I hope you really enjoyed the Cassadaga Winter Festival! So many
organizations involved and I personally want to thank these people:
Brandon Meacham with the Park Methodist Church for hosting “Frozen” and providing free popcorn.
Thank you Amber Hilliker for organizing the Cub Scout bake sale at the Library. Proceeds went to the Cassadaga Food Pantry.
Thank you Cassadaga Library for providing kids’ crafts and Audubon Nature Shows. They were great! The kids loved the turtles, tree frog and snake.
Many thanks to Brian Hilliker and Boy Scout Troop 219 for a fun packed afternoon sledding on the hills of Cassadaga Country Club. The snowman contest was fun, too, and we were all pleasantly surprised with prizes awarded! Next year, the adults want in…
Thank you, Cassadaga Country Club for allowing us to use your facility and the free hot chocolate. Cassadaga Lakes Association organized the wagon ride around the lake. Special thanks to Dave Lawson, driver; Bob & Ann Beckman, for use of the tractor; and Bob Rodgers, for use of the wagon.
Lily Dale Assembly provided a very interesting historic walking tour and refreshments afterwards. Thank you Neal Rzepkowski for organizing this. The winter games looked awesome, but I think a nasty turn of the weather (sleet and freezing rain) caused the lack of participation here.
Big Tone played for an appreciative crowd at the Legion for the “Snow Ball”. Thank you, American Legion Post 1280 (Bruce and Renee Kaus) and the Village of Cassadaga for co-sponsoring this. The Legion also sponsored a Corn Hole Tournament, which had 9 teams register.
Thanks to Valley Kiwanis (Dave Rowley) for an awesome All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast, with CVCS Key Club members helping out.
The Boutwell Hill Cross Country Club was ready to host a group ski through the state forest groomed trails, but the weather did not cooperate.
Jojo’s Asian Café, Cassadaga Country Club, Cassadaga Shurfine and Whiskey Hill Saloon all offered specials during the festival.
Approximately organizations and businesses coming together to make this happen! Incredible! Great job, everyone! Thanks for making Cassadaga a better place to live!
